Six Great 20th Century Australian Artists
Discover the meaning and thought behind six of Australia's greatest 20th Century artists. They are names that you no doubt have heard of but do you know anything about them and their work?
Wednesdays 10.00 - 12.00 noon
These six artists cover a multitude of styles and attitudes from
the nudes of Norman Lindsay (amongst other things!); the landscapes
of Russell Drysdale who was one of the first to incorporate into
his work the original inhabitants of the land; the flattened
landscape form of Fred Williams who re-imagined compositional
space; the Australian legends of Sidney Nolan with his unique
interpretations; the idiosyncratic work of John Brack covering a
wide range of subjects; and finally the impressionist as well as at
times the expressionist work of Arthur Boyd.
